OBAMA: Going out on a limb to support him

Published by vphipps at 2:08 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Coming from The Lone Star State where everyone I know voted for McCain, I’ve gone out on a limb and freely chosen to support the one who did, in fact win in the end.

In spite of the warnings I received from friends and family, I must admit it was nice to be on the winning side on election night. Beyond Obama’s victory, I choose to believe this can be a victory for us all.

There’s just something about him that inspired me to actually believe in endless possibilities, where McCain’s campaign tried to make me afraid to go out on a limb and vote the other way.You see, I have nothing against McCain. I simply choose to be, “for more,” and “against less,” than I’ve ever been before. It makes no sense to me when I see grown adult human beings who refuse to open their minds to the possibility that they might be wrong sometimes, and in fact, it just might be true that Obama was and is the right man to lead us to new and improved possibilities that we never went out on a limb to see or believe in.

Let’s open our minds to the endless possibilities we might achieve just because we are not right sometimes, and in the end, the other guy wins. Let’s strive to find the faith it takes to actually believe that Obama was destined to lead our country. It could be that he will change the nation by changing one mind at a time, like he did mine.

To me, any time someone can inspire me to see beyond the mountain top of strife, hate, racial bigotry, closed mindedness and fear, then he must be the one meant to lead our country. That’s why I’d like to challenge you to support him too. Let’s choose to do what proud American’s do. Let’s create a way to make this country great and go out on a limb to support the one who won and find the faith it takes to believe in the endless possibilities Obama just might provide all of mankind.
